Born in Saint Paul, Minnesota to Sharon W. Stephens and the late Dr. Robert L. Stephens, an educator and Baptist minister. She is the product of a blended family, with a total of four siblings, Treva, Patrice, Robert, Jr., and John.
LiBria Stephens graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics , the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina Central University School of Law. She was licensed to practice law in North Carolina in 2007.
LiBria has been married to her husband, Zireva, for 23 years. They have one son, David. David graduated from Hillside High School and is currently a junior at Harvard University.
LiBria is a member of Union Baptist Church, where she has participated in panel discussions and legal workshops through the social justice ministry. Further, she enjoys meeting and helping people. LiBria is committed to service and is a proud member of Durcilla Chapter #19, Order of the Eastern Star, PHA.
Attorney LiBria Stephens has been an attorney in private practice for more than 14 years. She is currently owner and managing partner at Fludd Stephens Law Office, PLLC. Some of her prior work experience includes serving as Trial Court Coordinator in Durham, working at the North Carolina Industrial Commission, and working across the state at the North Carolina Literacy Resource Center. LiBria has volunteered with many organizations in Durham to include, but not limited to: Durham Public Schools (especially Hillside High School), various political action committees, the George H. White Bar Association, the Durham County Bar, Legal Aid of NC, Durham Teen Court and NCCU School of Law. She also serves as one of Durham County's Jury Commissioners. Now is the time for LiBria Stephens to be Durham County Clerk of Court!
